User eligibility and registration

  • Legal capacity: The app is intended for users who are legally competent to enter into contracts in India. Minors (under 18) are not permitted to use the app.
  • Account creation: To avail of loan services, users must create a "Barota Loan Account" by providing personal details like their name, mobile number, email ID, and PAN card information. This information is used for authentication and KYC (Know Your Customer) processes.
  • Consent to communicate: By registering, users authorize BFL and its affiliates to communicate with them via SMS, email, and phone for marketing, promotions, and product information.

Data privacy and security

  • Limited access to phone data: The app explicitly states that it does not access or request permission for your phone's contacts, call logs, or telephony functions.
  • No biometric data storage: The policy confirms that BFL does not ask for or store any biometric information from its users.
  • Information usage: The collected personal and sensitive personal information is used for loan processing, KYC authentication, and other business purposes in compliance with Indian law. This includes sharing information with third-party service providers and affiliates for rendering services.

  1. Location Information
  • The app may access your approximate (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) and precise (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION) location only for verifying user location during KYC or submitting payment (for customer or field executives).
  • Location access is one-time and not stored continuously.
  1. Camera and Microphone Access

The app may request permission to use the camera and microphone for specific, user-initiated activities:

  • KYC Verification & Onboarding: Capturing a photo or video for identity verification.
  • Collection Receipt Evidence: Field executives may capture a photo of the payment receipt as proof of collection.
  • Document Uploads: Capturing images of identification or documents for loan processing.

These permissions are used only when the user initiates these actions and the app does not record, store, or access the camera or microphone in the background. Captured data is securely transmitted to our servers and not retained on the device after upload.

  1. Bluetooth Access
  • The app uses Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN, BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT) for limited operational purposes such as:
  • Connecting with nearby printing devices when required for printing
  • The app does not share or collect any personal data through Bluetooth connections.
  1. Network & Connectivity Information

The app uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions to communicate securely with our servers for:

  • User authentication, loan application submission, and data synchronization
  • Fetching profile details and sending necessary notifications
  1. Foreground Service and Wake Lock
  • The permissions FOREGROUND_SERVICE and WAKE_LOCK are used to:
  • Maintain smooth operation of GPS or camera features during KYC or attendance capture
  • Ensure uninterrupted service while uploading data or verifying identity

Loan process and user obligations

  • Digital process: The Barota app facilitates a 100% online application process for instant personal loans with minimal documentation.
  • Fraud prevention: Users are warned against fraudulent activities and prohibited from providing false, inaccurate, or incomplete information. Submitting fraudulent information may lead to the termination of the account.
  • Repayment: Loan repayment is automated through auto-debit instructions from the user’s bank account. Users can monitor EMI details through the app.
  • App usage and removal: Users are advised not to uninstall the app until the loan is fully repaid to ensure a seamless experience. Fraudulent deletion to avoid repayment is considered a material breach of the agreement.

Terms for third-party services

  • Third-party providers: BFL may use third-party service providers to offer certain services. The company is not responsible for the offerings, privacy practices, or content of these third parties.
  • Affiliates: BFL can share user information with its affiliates to provide services. The specific data shared, purpose, and duration of use are disclosed to the user at registration.

Please be aware, however, that Barota Finance Limited will release specific personal information about the User if required to do so in the following circumstances:

  • In order to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, statute, or court order, or
  • If any of User's actions on Barota Finance Limited's website violate the Terms of Service or any of Barota Finance Limited's guidelines for specific services, or
  • To protect or defend Barota Finance Limited's legal rights or property, the Barota Finance Limited site, or Barota Finance Limited Users; or
  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the security, integrity of Barota Finance Limited website/offerings.
